As part of the Norfolk Food Festival Watercress Lane Duck Eggs attended the tasting event held at the Forum Norwich on Saturday the 25th Sept 2010. With high hopes of many visitors coming to enjoy the delights of Norfolks finest foods we found that we were not dissapointed.
We arrived early on the Saturday morning ready to set up camp to find that we would need to move from our intended plot inside. With the cooking of our scrambled duck eggs we found that we would need to take up a position outside and enjoy the somewhat indifferent British weather. Fortunately Mother Nature was kind and only a few spots of rain fell and with a lovely spot just outside the main entrance the architectural brilliance of the Forum kept us dry.
With the Battle of the Bangers in full flow through the day the amount of visitors was amazing and it was a real treat to see the public embracing their local food suppliers. We had a huge response to our scrambled duck egg tasting and with the buns that Emma from Buns of Fun produced we began to make entrance to the forum difficult with the crowd that formed. Education was our main focus and with a multitude of questions being asked and answered we felt that many people went home with an enriched knowledge of Duck Eggs.
After a visit from Radio Norfolk and more information given by our own Gavin Fisher on a live broadcast the day was deemed a great success. The public gaining information on our lovely eggs as well as recipes, a taste of what can be achieved with them and of course plenty took half a dozen home to enjoy.
